Description: The research line is focused on the use of localization of robots within unknown environments. Currently, we have carried out a research about methods to map through compression methods and visual information (which is necessary to know the position of the robot within the evironment). Results have been published and have created a huge interest. These results have proved that through this methods, a balance between accuracy and time can be reached. Through the use of this stay, the aim is to establish a collaboratio which allows to validate these new methods in new environments and also to develop new more robust algorithms. During this stay, we also studied how the illumination changes may affect the accuracy previousle studied (though hierarchical maps). Furthermore, we have studied Deep Learning regarding computer vision, since Prof. Jiang and his group have a wide knowledge about this topic. The aim of  this tool is to obtain global appearance descriptors which enhance the visual characterization.
