Abstract:

As a consequence of the current reality of the electric vehicle, the governments have planted measures to reduce pollution by promoting the use of these quiet vehicles, for example, through private subsidies for the acquisition, limiting access to electrified cars to areas of saturated pollution or gradually replacing the fleet of public service vehicles to electrified variants.

The specific study of the impact of the electrified vehicle as a noise source can be evaluated from different points of view; on one hand by the evaluation of dB/hour reflected by the noise maps according to European Directive 2015/996 or by the sensation of instantaneous noise that is generated in the environment of the vehicle itself.

This paper shows an analysis to assess the sound improvement derived from the substitution of conventional urban buses for electrified variants in the municipality of Elche, Spain, evaluating the sound levels according to the circulation of these vehicles on repetitive routes of the public transport service through GPS tracking.
